I have started work on a SCW Republic campaign, and want to use the classic "Ay Carmela" as menu music. The problem is that I only have it in MP3. Have I tried a few conversions programs, but the resulting Wav files has either caused IL-2 to crash, or turned out redicolusly BIG, like a 28Mb Wav for a 600Kb-ish MP3 file.

Any suggestions?

hi, MP3 >> wav conversion is ALWAYS bigger end file for "natural" PC-Laws unfortunately. about crash i don't know the reason, may be you can try the wave conversion program that's into NERO suite or AUDACITY but for the 1st (better) you need fraunhofer's encoder/decoder code product licence for MP3 conversion may be.

I have no idea why the program crashes, perhaps something to do with the ini. files?

To convert Mp3s to wav or vise-versa (also taking sound from YouTube videos to Mp3) I
usually use http://www.zamzar.com/url/ , it never lets me down

The songs in my SCW music pack have been converted to wavs and can be used in the game rightaway.

Ay Carmela is there. Just rename it to "es" and drop in menu folder in samples.
