Hey all
It's been awhile since I've played IL-2 and a friend has come to me looking to fly with me again and I have IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 with UI 1.1. Although he has forgotten battles and I cannot remember for the life of me if FB is compatible with 1946 or how that works. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

IL2 1946 contains Forgotten Battles mate !!

The official game is now up to version 4.09 (soon to be patched to 4.10)
In addition there is an extensive range of unofficial mods, including new aircraft, maps an effects.

For all of those you require IL2 1946 v 4.07 as the starting point.

It's not compatible. FB is version 1.00. With the AEP add on (if he has that) it is version 2.00. Merge that with Pacific Fighters (if he has that), it is version 3.00. It would take too many patches and pay-for add ons (not to mention the difficulty of finding some of them any more) to get FB up to where 1946 is now, at version 4.09.

Your friend will have to buy 1946. I think it is only around $10 to download it from ubisoft site.
