New Pilot w/4.07 wants flyables and new sounds-Help,please.

I am totally new to IL-2. I come from the old Microsoft CFS school of flightsim. I love this sim and want these mods but so far I have only done a few skins.That is as far as I have gone. This sound mod sounds intimidating but if someone could give me a step by step guide I would be very thankful. Everyone knows the 109 was not a radial engine a/c...

It is Il-2 1946 which is the complete series including Pacific Fighters. The version is 4.07m as indicated on the splash screen as the game loads. I saw the demos for the new v-12 and radial engine sounds. Thank you very much for the input. I have another question- would that be client or dedicated server as 2 versions of that are showing up.

I as well have come from the age of CFS and am been having problems with UI. There needs to be a pack of flyable aircraft and a step by step derection page on how to use them because every time I try to download a mod it messes up il-2 so I have to reload it. Please respond! Good day, everyone

Getting almost all the flyables and most of the new sounds can be had by installing a latest mod pack. We have four forums in "IL-2 Modding Community" section near the top of our website Board/forum index:

IL2 Modding Community

* HSFX Forum.
all related to HSFX mod packs

* Team Daidalos Forum
For discussion, announcements from Team Daidalos

* Special Aircraft Service Forum.
Discussion, announcements, help etc for mods from the Special Aircraft Service

* UltraPack Forum.
Area dedicated to news, discussion and help for the UltraPack mod pack

If you want to get various recommendations on a mod pack, then I suggest to create a topic in the General Discussion forum and give it a good descriptive name, asking for a recommendation and why:

Getting a mod pack is a great idea as a base for adding more flyable aircraft, sound mods, and other mods. With a mod pack, you will already have most of them, therefore saving time. It will help you to learn a few things that you need so you can add some more mods quickly to your mod pack after you learn how to do it.

A few more suggestions:

1) Scan every download for malware before opening it.

2) Test the download for corrupt files by using the free trial period of WinRar or get free 7z. This is important and actually saves time.

3) Open the download next.

4) Keep a copy of everything that you want to keep.

5) Build IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 at least to the 4.09m version before adding a mod pack. (We can help get you there when you are ready.)

Welcome to our community and feel free to ask questions and post comments in the appropriate forums and topics.

Enjoy!
