First Campaign: Glorious and Despised
#1

Hi guys !!

Here's my very first campaign finally ready to be played with, Glorious and Despised, if you like flying as a Canadian pilot, then you'll possibly enjoy it, to play it, you'll need the HSFX 4.0 or more advanced. Lots of action at sea included with especially a good numbers of Torpedo-Bombing with the Swordfish from an HMS Illustrious class Aircraft-Carrier and it's semi-historical. It's the first time I really built a campaign and had rarely built missions so I hope you'll forgive the lack of experience in this.

40 missions under the Canadian flag and it covers these events

Norway's Defense 1940
Dunkirk's Evacuation 1940
Sinking the Bismarck
Mers-El-Kebir Massacre
Battle of Cape Matapan
Escorting the Malta Supply Convoys
Taranto Attack
Attacking Afrika Korps Convoys
Battle of the Atlantic
Escorting the Convoys to Murmansk
Attacking the Scharnhorst
Destroying the Tirpitz

It was quite the work to build it but I hope you'll enjoy playing it as an Offline Campaign.

The plane you fly are the Swordfish, the Sea Gladiator, the F4F-4 Wildcat and the Seafire, also the final mission is about piloting the C-47. Not the best machines but during the war we fight with the weapons we do have right ??

Anyway, enjoy guys

Some screenshots, please. Big Grin

EDIT: Can't you make the whole skin folder structure??? Trust me it is very bothersome to manually place every single skin for every user. And imagine, some people attach some tens of skins - would you be keen on placing them all as a user? :?

(It is also hard to place them - it is not obvious from the first sight WHERE they should be placed.... e.g. "9084-RaspberryRipple.bmp" - is it for "C-47" or "C-47A" or "C-47B"....?

Remember, YOU know it cause you used the skin in the game, but the users don't... Campaign makers should make user-friendly things.)

Sorry about it, I'll have to update that kind of problem quickly, the C-47 is supposed to be loaded in the C-47, not the other versions ( C-47 standard, not C-47A or others. ).

Uusually, I had to deal with such problems at some points but I didn't thought about this detail.

I'm sorry, I don't even know how to handle screenshots, but if you'd tell me how, I'd gladly put some included. Smile

I use "Print screen" function and after having pressed it, I got *.tgas. Now, I am using a mod (not sure whether it has been incorporated in either Ultrapack or HSFX) which makes them *.jpegs. Then it is necessary to have a website where you can upload them and after that you can use them here.

PS.

I thought Canada was using "standard British roundels" during WW2, didn't it?

During WW2, possibly but I wasn't too sure and wanted to give it a better obvious markings for Canada, so I used the Canadian markings the Canadian Air Force used after the war.

I see, I'll update it as soon as I'm sure how to do it. Smile

EDIT: Skins Detail Fixed, or at least I think so.

Interesting campaign !!!

About the skins... the ideal would be to indicate clearly in which folder they go (readme does not indicate it clearly), or better, put them in their respective folders before zipping... that would greatly simplify the task for the user after !!! I especially think about the Seafire : which version do you use ? MkIII or F MkIII ???

Avoir la foi, c'est être plus sûr d'une chose que la raison ne le permet.

I thought I did correct it... :-?

Were there any folders about which skins would go for which planes ?? :-?

Seafire MkIII
Sea Gladiator MkII
C-47
F4F-4
Swordfish MkI
