Cheers Planemad,

It's a pity that I am not writing english like your William Shakespeare. I like Cigars and Whisky like your famous Winston... But... difficult for me to speak the same English ;o)

Nice

If you buy a brand new car and once you run out of the shop you see you can't engage the third speed and aboves, the car doesnt run above 70 km/h and the brakes only work when you press the pedal to the floor... will you say: "Ok, lets go back to the workshop and let them do the proper fixing in the next six months?"
And if you read about this before you buy that car, will you go and buy it?

When Forgotten Battles came out it was flyable, with lower settings it ran smooth on low end computers. On that time high end computers, was also flyable in perfect mode, smooth and fluid. Now we read that very high end computers (i7+tons of RAM Mb+still hot from oven graphics cards) don't run the game as fluid as it's supposed to be.
C'mon, lot of people invested money to get a new computer just for this game, paid some money (much or not) for a product it's supposed to be relatively finished, what for? To sit in a cockpit and learn how to start a merlin's engine, to see the gulls flying by and... switch the engine off and exit the game.

I, at least, would think it twice.

However, we trust in 1C and Oleg and so we hope everything will be fixed and perhaps in one year the graphics cards and cores are cheaper and we can upgrade our computers enough to make it playable as IL2 was when it came out.

It's the world upside down, indeed. People expect a quality product. But now it feels like we have to feel sympathy for the developers, for releasing a bad product.

For 5 euro's, it's worth buying and i would like to tweak it to reasonable quality.

For 50 euro's i expect a quality product, for everybody! No good words for them.

Firstly, let me say that I do not have a copy of COD & have not played the game. My comments are related to my reading of the many forum posts on various boards from people who have purchased COD. I have checked the official game website & various promotional videos etc put out at various stages by the game distributer. There are claims made on the website & in promo material that appear to be untrue at the time of the game release. For example, COD promo proudly proclaims that pilots can join a 128 player online dogfight. To my knowledge this is not possible given the current engine performance issues. Secondly, the distributers claim on the official game website that the minimum computer specs below are required for the game. My understanding is that most users with high-end computers are experiencing unplayable FPS becuase the code has not been optimised to use multicore processers (uses just one core). Further, users with the minimum computer specs are experiencing lockups or FPS so low they compare the game to a slide show. Notwithstanding the usual game "bugs" that might be expected (issues that beta testers might have missed), it could be suggested that the game distributers material is misleading & perhaps even deceptive or contrary to various trade practices laws.

* VIDEO CARDBig GrinirectX® 9.0c compliant, 512Mb Video Card (1GB DirectX® 10 recommended) – See supported List*

Guys,

I am thinking now that money was the issue. After years of postponement, 1C needed cash for their investment.

If ubisoft is involved it results in either poor graphics or low FPS.

That's a fact.

yeah, Resident Evil 4 could have been able to run better even on my low end desktop on the stock low-res textures

To name a few from my PC:
Rainbow 6 vegas 2, always struttering.
Splinter Cell Chaos theory, low graphics, even with them it may have strutters.
Splinter Cell conviction, pretty good graphs but needs a super-computer.

Il-2 is the only great ubi game I've played.

Im not quite sure where i stand on this . I wont get into how upset i am about the playable quality of it. I honestly have resigned to not even starting it up again until a few months go by. And some major patches have been released and the bugginess is all gone.

besides there is still a lot of high quality flying and work to be done in 1946 still.
