Download WinMerge and combine them into one file

so, let me get this straight - if i have 2 different static.ini's, or any of the other stationary/ships/etc ini files, how would it be gaurunteed to work?
Q: If the ini file has entries which are not used,or necessary, would it still work?
If the ini file is missing needed entries, it won't work- this much, I think we know.
I've had many issues with mod compatibility recently, and most of them seem to involve the relevant ini file. I've been using Winmerge, with mixed results. Sometimes, by copying lines which are missing in one ini to another, fixes the problem. Sometimes it doesn't.
If it is a case of the ini file having 'unused' entries, would that cause the game to crash/not save/whatever?
If not, and the ini file will work with 'unused' entries, then it shouldn't be too difficult, via Winmerge, or such like, to ensure that the ini file has every possible entry?
That last beer after work is also kicking in... 8), so I'm off to fly the new Channel map... Big Grin

Redundant entries which are not used in a map should not cause any problems...it is NOT having the required entries which causes problems

The game engine will only use the first one it comes to...any subsequent ones are ignored...combine them....(but do not delete the old working ones before fully sure it is all working Ok...just disable them by putting them in a new folder

May be a solution to put all static entries into one single folder? eg: all static..ini of LaL_RONE into STD one ?

Just the 1 in STD\com\maddox\il2\objects

Future mods will use this path. make sure you have the 4.09b entries along with what you require from CanonUk's map and any other object mods you may have. Backup the old "spare" copy till youre sure its not needed any longer.

If you are still using the old Lal_Rone static.ini then you are using the old one which didn't have the 4.09beta objects....

Hi Falco,

try this tool named "winmerge" or something like that.

D/L Link is here in Forum, go over SEARCH to find.

Don't forget BACKUP of nessessary Files BEFORE merging with this tool.

Good Luck mate.
