Hallo,
in the older Il-2 Games, we could hear this Sound after a german Pilot was finishing a Mission:
"Mission erf
Oh man, political correctness is going to kill me! YES! If we can get this modded that would be wonderful!
Or propaganda. Or 1930's WWI Movies... IE Hells Angels, Dawn Patrol etc...
War Movies weren't a post WWII development...
My English is not the best, but when he said:
"Mission erf
the Wochenschau was shown in cinemas prior to TV. In other countries of the time, England, USA besides Radio this was the only way to get "living" news to the people, they had their own cinema news version.
I can't see anything politcally offensive in this sentence actually (of course in times of dictatorship and war news was and is propaganda)
has it something to do with this sentence being only there for the German side? was there a similar thing for Russians?
maybe they dropped it with with PF because it was attached to the German side only ( I do not know the pre PF games...)?
...must admit that i was pretty annoyed by that sentence ... if i remember it correctly it was used every time some plane would hit the target ( not only for mission success ). In large mud moving missions with many ground attacking planes (flights) that thing was pretty much all that you hear + landing request/clearances if present in mission ....
file is : Mission_accomplished_Excellent_Just_like_the_movies.wav
you can always switch its filename with :Mission_accomplished.wav ... or some other file still used by game ....
cheers
Z
okay, if this was on all the time... i guess I know why it went. stuff like that can get annoying!!!
once in a while okay, but not all the time.
Hmm, I have played IL-2 from the first day on.
I think it was not to often submitted but I liked it!
Like: "Da geht er runter"
Means : "there he is going down" (still activated)
In the german IL-2 it was said in a (I dont know the right word) "Dialekt from Middle Germany called Hessen"
Has anybody an Idea to reactivate this???
I think it has to be only a little change in a text, but I dont kno where!
There are many wav files whitch are not used in the game!
see fly_zo's post... look for a line still in use and change the name of the wav.
