This *was* just a post to share some photos of the RAF from war time, and national service that I have found over time etc. But now it isn't. Ho hum.

Royal Observers Corps, who were often relied upon to give up to date reports on aircraft movement, where RADAR was impractical or not working. An often over looked group of people who participated in the Battle of Britain.
8 Squadron (indian air force) Aircrew and Groundcrew
not strictly related; however, that does look fun!
Boulton Paul Defiants
Incidentally, for those who are interested, LSW is the current British Army Section support weapon (Light Support Weapon; LSW)

Hey
Nice shots. Just as a point of interest though, that shot in the middle of the pilots running to the MkXVIs along with the german shepard, it's not a wartime shot at all. It was a reenactment from well after the war had finished.

Hmm... yeah, you're right, i hadn' noticed that. I only knew that it wasn't battle of Britain. Oh well, its still a nice shot!

Thanks for posting these! I can't have enough of such pictures representing the lives of RAF pilots during the war.

These were photos from he passing out parade at RAF Pambroke (i think that was the name, i could easily be wrong) as fresh national servicemen finish their 6 weeks' square bashing. Now they're gorn. The benefit of growing a bit of sense.
