flap / gear sounds; misc effects

  • upon hard landing a fuel tank fire will erupt in all airplanes, even if the airplane has no gas. i can duplicate this and it's somewhat annoying as a perfectly good airplane will suddenly burst into flames.

can the sounds for gear and flaps be changed / modified? Flaps too noisy, gear not noisy enough. gear shake is too high as well... lol.

It doesn't always ignite the fuel tanks, it depends where the fuel is, how much is available, and where the sources of sparks/heat are during the accident.

If you hit the ground that hard, does it matter if there are flames? As an aircraft would not be in perfectly good condition after such a landing anyway. I've always thought the game was pretty generous in terms of what it will let you get away with.

The volumes for the sound fx can be changed - I'm not sure how myself, but this thread might be of help: http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...vol+volume

Ah yes, the thread I started so long ago. Tongue Well, I did learn from it. And here is what I can tell you:

You have 2 options:

1) You can download a FREE audio editing software called "Audacity," load the .wav file there, and increase/decrease volume, and then save.

.wav files located here >> IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/Files/Samples

OR

2) You go here:

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946/Files/presets/sounds

and you will find a set of .txt documents that you can open with notepad, and each file corresopnds with the sound files in the samples folder. Once you figure out which is which, look within the file for this line:

While flying a G-11 glider I had a hard (botched) landing and KABOOM!!!!!!! it explodes, and gliders don't carry any fluel....

I get a fire, but there is no "fire message" like you would normally expect. like "fuel tank fire".

I dont get any message like that. I can reproduce it quite easily now.

WHERE ARE THE NEW SOUNDS FOR GEAR AND FLAP EXTENSION?
