In-game explosion effects

Hi all, I just wanted to see if one of my biggest problems with the game can be solved- the explosion effects.
In-game, the explosion is represented simply by having a texture expand outward and grow more transparent- leaving a clear blue sky behind. However, in real life, explosions are usually more a giant ball of flame AND smoke, and when the flame is gone a large amount of black smoke remains. I was just wondering if there was any way to attach a smoke effect to the current explosions, and have the smoke hang around a little longer after the explosion...so that they appear more opaque and realistic.
I'd do it myself, but I have no idea how the effects files work. Is anyone willing to take a crack at this?

Yeah , the plane explosion could be replaced with something like bigger Buffy's flak smoke and fireball.
Buffy's flak explosion is flawless , I wish there is a way to stick it to the plane explosion and then tweaking the size to make it bigger bang .
That might be a good start .

Atleast so far most folks agree that Buffy's Flak is a nice way to start, and hell, can't agree more with that.

Working on it................................................... :lol:
This new upcoming additional aircraft effects mod will have many changes and also new effects all within AAA rules without touching any DM , FM or weapon class files .
It's already very complex mod , that's why it takes time and there have been a few delays .
We're trying one last time to squeeze everything we can out of this simulator to get us better old and some new changed visual effects also historicaly more correct as much as possible .
FPS impact is minimal and mod is running flawless FPS thus far.
It's in the work for quite some time .
Hold on , when is out ? two weeks , be sure . :lol:

I think the mid-air explosion is hardcoded.
I've tweaked every possible particle, and couldn't yet find the explosion.
