IL2 1946 Seems to freeze and turn black after a certain amount of time played in a mission. Sometimes it goes black after 10 minutes, sometimes after 30 minutes.. Sometimes i can play for like 1 hour (im playing the hellhawks campaign, so thats roughly 2 missions if i use the timeskip function) .. When the game goes black i get this message box saying : "The NVIDIA OpenGL driver encountered an unrecoverable error and must close this application Error 14"
My GFX card is the GTX295 and im running it with the 182.08 drivers.. This only happens in IL2 mind you. In other games like Far Cry 2, GTA IV it performs flawlessly..
Any help & tips?

Hi There
I know this may be a stupid question but do you have any cards next to your graphics card that could be covering or slightly covering the fan on it.
I ask as I had a similar problem with mine when I installed a soundcard on the slot next to my graphics card.
I found it was making the graphics card heat up more and causing it to stutter and finally crash out of the game.
anyone knows something more about those dlls?
having the same issue, and solved for the moment playing with the directx instead of opengl...
thanks in advance!
The 178.xx series was stabe for most setups. Go from there to newer until you have the newest that are stable. This is the best advice I can offer!
Good luck.
this issue is not related specifically to nvidia drivers or cards, it happens to the newer ati cards with vista also, no matter what the error message says. it can be caused by a number of issues such as overheating, incorrect memory settings, incorrect nvidia display panel settings, failing power supply. the error message just means that for some reason, the card couldn't continue displaying the images on screen. if you search the error on the internet, you will see a million ways to solve the error, some people will say that your hardware is failing. i have also noticed that this error does happen more frequently with il-2 than any other game, though. make sure that you reduce overclocks, if any especially memory. make sure that your computer is properly ventilated. also, do a clean install of your display drivers using driver sweeper. when i had this trouble, i found out it was caused by memory set up incorrectly in the computer BIOS
another thing i forgot to mention is that i would get this more often when i was using quad sli, with 2 9800gx2. now that i use only one 9800gx2, i have only had to deal with this once or twice. if you have installed any hardware recently, remove and check the problem.
for more suggestions, google the problem error message on the net and it will come up with some good solutions.
