Once I get in game I can NOT look around! While in the cockpit position the view automatically turns and looks over the right shoulder. From the exterior it moves to the right front of the plane and NOTHING will cause this to change! Not the hat, keyboard, keypad, or the mouse can change the view! BTW it doing this from a clean install with and without a joystick attached. :evil:

As always any and all suggestions will be apreciated! BTW it's a streaight up clean install, no mods.

i've had this happen but been a long time ago so can't remember what was causing it. seems like with me, i was using the natural point tracker device (one of the first ones made) and something was clashing with it. hope you get it going cause i remember how frustrating it was for me too.

It doesnt sound like the F9 key is doing it. If it was, he would still be able to look around. It would just snap back.

Me again, I was getting buzzed when it hit me (like all great ideas do). It sounds like you've got your FOV buttons messed up, like mabey you center view button is conflicting with something. Now I know no one wants to redo their mapping for their keys, But if you run out of options try resetting the controls with the default button. If that doesnt work, well let that be a lesson to you. DONT TAKE ADVICE FROM POTHEADS. :twisted:

Thanks, but it does this with or without the joystick! And when I clear all the look commands in the game from the keyboard commands it still does this! I uninstalled the game then had one hell of a time getting it re-installed only to have this friggin' problem still around. I'm looking for an old style mouse, non usb, to see if that will help. Because this is happening in all of the different installs of the game (read one install for mods and v4.08, a clean 4.08, a modded v4.09b1 and a clean 4.09b1) it has to be global and not game folder specific. Haven't smoke in years but this one is tempting me! LOL!

My friend had this just recently. He was using an old version of the Logitech G15 keyboard and found when he replaced it the bug went away. So maybe try a different keyboard.

I've got plenty of those I give it a try going to swap the moouse for one that's NOT usb

I have exactly the same problem! I use a USB mouse but I play with the same config since 2 months and never had this problem before......
I tried different USB ports, but the problem ramains...
I use a laptop, so I can hardly change the keyboard...

I am looking for any solution so that I wouldn't have to reinstall everything from scratch...

There's a line called TrackIRUse set 0 (zero) to disable, some of cases that's the problem.

this isn't the problem, read above, I've tried configs from all over including "Coasties" from the ubisoft forums and nothing has fixed it. Games on 2nite will get serious about this 2morrow.
