Trimming problem with the new Spits MKXIV'S
#1

Hello all

Both of the models roll to the left and no trim I do can help that, any idea how to solv it?
(the roll of other planes that have no seprate roll trim is minimized greatly by the ruder trim but the MKXIV's are no go for me)
What I found is that they need less pitch trim then other British planes and they almost need no ruder trim at high speeds-its like the optimized for that.

Please advice
Many thanks

Spitfires always roll to the left and they never had aileron trim. If you want it to fly straight give it a few notches to the right on the rudder and at high speed it'll stay straight. Slow, you can't do much about it, you just conpensate with the joystick like with the mk9, 8, 5 and even 1. It's always been the case unless you want to add even more rudder which will probably keep it straight and level but not going straight.

Spit MKXIV was the first one which featured the prop rotating in the oposite direction than the previous spits IIRC.

Besides, trim changes needed for the XIV due to its imense torque are way larger when compared to the other planes. It doesn't have a 5 bladed prop only for show... Wink
