Hello everyone. I have been looking at all the awesome ideas people have come up with for this website and the Il-2 game over the past year or so, but for some reason I never got around to really experiencing the different mods for myself.

My question is, what is the best set of mods to download in terms of effects, sounds, aircraft mods, new aircraft, maps, etc? My only concern is that I want to be able to play decent offline campaigns still, but I figure with the multitude of the mods, there might not be that much compatibility with Lowengrin's DCG. Are any of the new maps usable by his DCG, or am I stuck with the stock maps still. I know I could sit around and test all the mods myself, but I figure if I ask the people who have the most experience with them, they can guide me toward the good ones, or the amazing ones. " Best " mods is purely a matter of taste. All of the mods are awesome but some look brilliant while some look realistic. Its purely down to your own personal taste. Personally I download them all and switch them around to suit my mood :wink:

oddly enough, I just discovered the unified installer after I asked this question. I read through the contents of it, but I did not see anything pertaining to sound mods and or smoke/effects? Are they in there too? Or will i have to find some smoke/effects mods myself? Thanks

Shoulkd have the whole shabang, try it out, and then pm me, and i will poitn you in the rioght direction for better smoke, i belive holy grail and potenz have an a amzing smoke mod out.

my personal preferrence is same as Howlin's, Holy Grail and Potenz had made one of the best, realistic smoke mods available
