.... you should be careful with placing forest too close to vertical cliffs ( i've noticed that effect when forest texture gets placed on rather vertical ground )
just a thought

Baco, i've come across that in map mode FMB once or twice before. In my case, it was only in that mode that this happened. If I went into normal FMB, and flew over the forest, everything looked fine.
Just taking a shot in the dark here, but it might be a memory-realated issue. Same as if you load up a big map with plenty objects.
That exact same forest 'glitch' happened to me while making my own version of the Grand Canyon - I call it hte 'Green Canyon' . It's not permanent, and seemed to happen when i was clicking the mouse really fast while tiling.
Hope this helps a bit. 8)
Looks like an escalator for the Star Gate portal ... ha ha.
It's a memory issue. I get it sometimes during an extended period in FMB adding loads of new objects.
Just save, restart Il-2 and it will be gone.

I agree with canonUK. Be sure to save and restart when you first see this pop up on your screen. If not, IL2 might crash and go to desktop and you'll lose WIP.
Thnak you guys! it just might be.
