Ok, I downloaded the Spitfire MkI, after downloading the required items first, and the game crashes at 5%, and then I downloaded 4.09b1m Patch MOD Version & 4.08m to 4.09bm Switcher, and it still crashes at 5%.

Any ideas?

What might those "required items" have been? Spit MK.I, by itself, should not cause a 5% crash.
The 5% crash is usually a missing or corrupt .SFS file. It can happen if you install a sound mod, mod activator, or unified installer, without first patching the game to 4.08m. You'll have to provide more precise details about what you downloaded, or installed, or did.

Did you run the AC Installer after you put in the aircraft?

Ok, now I get the idea. I installed the mod activator, the Spit I and then the 4.08 mod. I see where I went wrong. Thanks.

Once again I find that your mods hate my computer.

I uninstalled the entire game, reinstalled it, cleared out the MODS file, installed mod activator, installed 4.09b1m Patch MOD Version & 4.08m to 4.09bm Switcher, installed wrapper, installed AC Installer 3.5, installed the Me 410 mod, and the Spitfire Mk I mod. I set the Il-2 properties so that it runs in compatibility Windows XP (Service Pack 2), and guess what? CRASH AT 5% STILL!!!!


WHAT IN THE NAME OF GENERAL BILLY MITCHELL IS GOING ON? WHY DO YOUR MODS HATE WINDOWS VISTA?

Another thing: It would give me a message after almost every mod install that it might not have installed correctly, and something about possible compatibility issues.

snaphance, might work better if you do this:

Uninstall Il-2

Go to your Il-2 folder and delete every thing.

Reinstall Il-2

Install UI1.1

Install the wrapper and mod activator. I would of thought the UI1.1 would already have it.

Update the Buttons file with 3.8

Install the Spit Mk.I

Make sure all the lines are added in the right places (air.ini etc)

Install any patches for the aircraft.

Run the game and enjoy.

Did you patch the game to 4.08m first? The Mod Activators install directly over a clean, patched 4.08m game ONLY!
Do not install it over 4.07m right off the DVD.

Also, you should be using AC Installer 3.8, which is the latest version.
