Unified Installer 1.2

LOCKS UP IN MAP M KEY Sad
Reply

What he means is:

After the installation of UI 1.2, when flying in a multiplayer game, the game freezes when the M key is pressed to access the map.

There were three of us who were playing yesterday after we installed UI 1.2, and we all experienced a game freeze when we pressed the M key to access the map.

Can anyone else confirm this?

I had this before 1.2, but not sure how it got fixed. Been having lots of trouble getting all of 1.2 to to work, so not sure exactly ( I did fresh windows install all the way through UI1.2 and sill having some issues)

If you didn't get any errors during the installation, I don't know what could be the problem.s for you.

But here's the link for the AAA UI 1.2 Installer via a torrent download that fly-zo gave me the link for: (The link is inoperative)

Hi all:

The problem where the game freezes, if you press the M key to access the map, has been resolved by Viper (who started this thread).

The solution is to remove or delete 2 folders that the UI 1.2 installer creates during the UI 1.2 installation.

The two folders are (01_ZUTI_DSMod and 01_Zuti_DSMod_v0.8_RC3.5). Move these folders out of the IL2 MODS folder and out of the IL2 installation directory. I don't know what these 2 folders are for, so I moved them somewhere else, in case I may need them at a later time.

Anyway, after moving these folders from the IL2 directory, the problem is fixed. Now, I can press the M key to access the map, and the map is displayed, and the game doesn't freeze up.

The two folders are (01_ZUTI_DSMod and 01_Zuti_DSMod_v0.8_RC3.5).
The UI 1.2 Installation only creates one of those folders (the latter). Obviously you installed UI 1.2 over a UI 1.1 that was not "clean", i.e. you had additional Mods installed, or you installed another ZUTI DSMod version afterwards. A better solution would have been to disable one or both of those folders by renaming with a minus sign. You should not have two ZUTI DSMods enabled at the same time.

This is not a bug in either the UI 1.2 or the ZUTI DSMod.

For you to tell me I installed 1.2 over an unclean version of 1.1 is bull crap. I know what I did. Obviously you dont know what you're talking about. It's a fact that you are making assumptions, and you are in err.

From a clean install of IL-2 1946 from Steam, I did not install any mods except UI 1.1 and UI 1.2. Yet I had those 2 folders (01_ZUTI_DSMod and 01_Zuti_DSMod_v0.8_RC3.5) in my IL-2 directory.

It could have been an alternative means to the solution for the freeze game solution by disabling those folders and letting them stay where they are, but I moved them. That's what I wanted to do. If I need them, I'll put them back.

OK, I could be wrong, sorry, but it was the most likely explanation for the facts as you described them.

I would be interested to know what is in the folder 01_ZUTI_DSMod if you still have it. My assumption is that it is an old version of the mod, which dates back to early summer or thereabouts. There should be a readme in the folder which will indicate the version of the DSMod.

I owe you and opoligy. I was wrong. and you are right. I think I did install the Zuti Mods.

I checked my folder where I keep the IL2 instalation files, and I have two files in there besides the UI installer files, One is named Zuti_DSMod, and the other is named AAA_Unified_1_1_Patch_1.11. The Zuti_DSMod is version v0.7 - no resync, and the AAA_Unified_1_1_Patch_1.11 had a folder in it named Zuti_Slovenia. I reckon that's where the other Zuti foler named 01_Zuti_DSMod_v0.8_RC3.5 came from.

You also gave good info about having only one of those Zuti mod folder enabled at a time.

My sincere opoligy for my embarasing goof up. I'm sorry. I was wrong, as I must have installed the Zuti Mods. I don't remember doing it, but the The Zuti_DSMod is in the folder where I keep my UI installation files. If I'm wrong, I will admit it.

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

And a summurary of the whole matter would be, I think, that the game freeze problem when m is pressed is not a bug of the UI installer.

Sorry for any confusuion I may have caused, but at least we got to the bottom of this game freeze issue.

No problem, Thomas. It was probably my use of the word "Obviously" that ticked you off, and understandably so. I could have worded that better.

I reckon that's where the other Zuti foler named 01_Zuti_DSMod_v0.8_RC3.5 came from.

Just to clarify, the U.I. 1.2 installs the 01_Zuti_DsMod_v0.8_RC3.5.
If you subsequently installed the v0.7 version, then you would get the other folder 01_Zuti_DSMod, as the older versions did not include the version number in the folder name. (you begin to see why I might have chosen the word "obviously"...)

Having two different versions of the ZUTI DSmod enabled at the same time is going to cause problems...obviously...

ZUTI also makes some very fine maps of Slovenia, and there is something of that in the 1.11 Patch, but that is nothing to do with the DSMod, which is a type of Moving Dogfight Mod.

Hope that is clearer.

8FS_Bulau:

Oh I see. The UI 1.2 installed the 01_Zuti_DsMod_v0.8_RC3.5 folder. OK

I must have installed the Zuti_DSMod v0.7 back when I installed the UI 1.1 installer. It was some time ago and I just didn't remember installing any Mods, except UI 1.1 and UI 1.2. And I actually don't remember what I'm even doing with that Zuti_DSMod in the folder where I keep my other IL2 installation files.

I have to be more careful about how I write, seeing as I didn't remember installing that Zuti_DSMod. Thank goodness for honest people, though.

Thanks for clearing up some of this for me.

Cya around.
