How do i get a clean version of IL2 1946?
#1

I have IL-2 with UI 1.2 so that's a lot of mods, is there an easy way to do this?
Could i just delete mods folder then copy the game folder and rename it?

I have searched and none gave me a straight up answer.

Ps - i'm trying to get 4.09.

Here's what I did.

I copied the '46 folder and removed the files and mods folder. Then I downloaded all of the patches (4.08m, 4.09b1m, 4.09) and installed them.

Hope it helps! Big Grin

If you only deleted the files and mods folder why would you have to update to 4.08 again?
Or is that where it's located?

Plus i thought it went like 4.08 to 4.09 not 4.09 beta then 4.09.

Well I dunno if updating 4.08 was necessary, :? but I did it anyway and it worked.

Take the game you have NOW and just RENAME it. Say C:\programs\ Arm-Ubisoft
On your C drive a make a new folder and call it Ubisoft.
Take your disk and reinstall your game to this new folder.C:\Ubisoft
Patch it the way you want. Now you have two installs
Copy the Game icon to your desk top.

might be easier not to reinstall because that would take even longer....
and lots of renaming.

Oh yeah... and i cant reinstall because i have the steam version.

Huh... copying probably wont work then either because it's essencially the same thing plus it's taking my computer 1 hour to copy it all... and probably another hour to delete the files and mods folder so i guess i'm giving up.

I've done this recently starting from UI 1.2 install and converting back to 4.08

Run the Version Switcher to switch to 4.08 mods off (original)
Start the game to confirm it starts in 4.08 version.

Delete root\MODS folder
Delete root\Maps folder -- if you have one
Delete root\files folder -- if you have one

That's it.

If you now patch this with the latest official 4.09m version (Team Daidalos)
copy the new files.sfs and il2fb.exe into your _game_switcher/4.09 mods off folder

You can now still use the Version Switcher utility to switch between 4.08 and 4.09 unmodded.
