Mirrors for the P-51D-20NA and P-51D-5NT
#1

Where did the mirrors go?

They were part of UI 1.2. If you put the mod that had been created for these two planes in the mods folder the mirrors for the Hellcats disappear when the game loads. If you put the landing light for the F4U in the mods folder the mirrors for the Hellcat are turned off when the game loads.

Why are the entire gun sights not showing in the Hellcats and Corsairs? You can't see all the way out to the 100 mil ring. You can almost see the outer ring if you go to gun sight view, but you no longer can move your head up and down. I like the brightness and clarity of the new reticules, but I don't care for not seeing the entire gun sight.

The UI had its faults, but at least you could go in and see almost all of the mods and turn off what effects that you didn't want. Now we have mods to enable in order to turn off other mods. Give me a break. Give me the long load times of the old file structure. So as a reminder to anyone that wants to put some of their favorite mods in the "Mods" folder your game may be adversely affected by this new file structure.

... hier.him files has been altered + introduced new files for gunsights ( not successfully if i may add )

to have old ones back :

since we don't know which files has been altered/introduced ( no filelist.txt) the only way would be ..

P-51 .... get default files for those cockpits and place them as mod in Mods folder ... that will override files from HSFX an mirror mod will work again ( like in UI's )

F6F ... here is my mod patched so it works with HSFX ( with Jolly's mirrors incorporated ) :

(The link is inoperative)

Thanks for the reply fly_zo

I had installed your mod for the F6F (HSFX) a couple of days ago and the mirrors worked fine just as they did in the UI versions. The problem is that tonight when I played a quick mission with a P-51D for the first time in HSFX 4.1 there were no mirrors for the P-51D-20NA and P-51D-5NT. So I copied the mod P51D_MIRROR_MOD from my UI 1.2 folder and pasted it into the "Mods" folder for HSFX 4.1 . When I did this and launched the game there were no mirrors for the F6F.

Mods\P51D_MIRROR_MOD\3do\Cockpit\P-51D-20(K14) and also P-51D-20(N9)

Should I be doing this differently?

.. that is strange cos P-51's mirrors use files from P-51C while F6F uses files from F4F ... so there should be no conflicts (different files)

something else got wrong...

try changing mod loading order by renaming mods folder names .... 01_fly_zo F6F / 02_P'51Mirror mods .. or vice verse

When you said that the F6F mirror mod was HSFX compatible I put it in the jsgme mods folder.

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 HSFX4.1\jsgmemods\F6F_MIRROR_MOD

Should I have done this or put it into the Mods folder?

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 HSFX4.1\Mods\F6F_MIRROR_MOD

Okay got the three mods working, F6F Mirrors, P-51 Mirrors & F4U Landing Lights. I had to put the F6F_MIRROR_MOD into the Mods folder not in the jsgmemods and everything worked like in UI.

Just to make sure I didn't mess things up I deleted the F6F_MIRROR_MOD. I went to my download folder and got your folder, "cockpit_F6F_fly_zo" and put this into the Mods folder not the jsgmemods folder.

This is the correct location isn't it?

Everything works just like when I moved the F6F_MIRROR_MOD from jsgmemods folder and into the correct location, mods folder. I won't touch it now and will make sure it is cockpit_F6F_fly_zo.

Thanks for your help.

Mastiff, if you don't have a Mods folder, just create one in your game folder, and put mods you want to use inside it.
