Ok I have 4.0 and 4.1 downloaded but I need help installing and configuring them so that HSFX works because I can't seem to get the thing working lately it seems someone give me a indepth detailed instructions on how to get a Clean install from 4.09m to HSFX 4.0 then to 4.1 step by step please.

Installation Instructions for History Mod Version 4.1

1: Patch il2 Sturmovik 46 to Full 4.09m

Detail : The History Mod version 4.1, requires an install of Il-2 Sturmovik 1946, plus Patches 4.08 and 4.09 and the History MOD (HSFX) 4.0.

IMPORTANT : For user's with Mod Folders, the Version 4.1 Installer will delete the Mods folders and all files, as they are
no longer needed, because the content is now all contained in Compiled SFS files.

If you want to keep these folders, you should rename them, or move them before running the Installer.

Put all your downloaded HSFX 4.0 files into one folder (but not with the 4.1 files), and then click on the .exe file to start the installer. Point the installer at your 4.09m install when it asks where to install the mod.

When the installer is finished, click on the new JSGME shortcut you will have on your desktop and enable the history mod(HSFX), then click on your old Il2 shortcut to start the game and check it is working as a HSFX 4.0 install.

Now exit the game, and repeat the same steps from installing the HSFX 4.0 files but this time with just the 4.1 files. When the installer finishes, make sure the history mod is still enabled in the JSGME and you should be good to go.

3-Added the Ubi-Fix (Because its a Digital download :oops: )
4-Installed HSFX 4.0
5-Activated HSFX History Mod with JSGME

And my game doesn't run :???:

What I'm doing wrong??

I want to know, If someone could send me his il2fb.exe, because that's the only thing I think can fix my problem
If you think in another solution, or you know why my game doesn't run please, please tell me why.

I'm new to this forum. I have had IL2 since 2008, didn't know what much to do with it when I bought it, because I couldn't get it to run on my old rig. I started to throw it out, but decided all these years (about 1 year) to hold on to it. I am so glad I did.

Now my problem:

I have downloaded I think version 1 of the mod. When I hover the mouse over the executable (HSFX), it shows version 1.0. Everytime I click on the executable, the install startes to run, but freezes at the .SFS file...'fb_hsf3do10'.

This happens all the time. I have all the files in one folder, but still get a 'not responding' error at that point.

I have also patched to 408 and then to 409, still no luck. I have looked for the 4.0 version, and found that that website states 4.0, but why after I download them and hover the mouse over it, the system shows 4.1?

Don't know what the problem is. Can anyone help? :?

It sounds like you may have some bad files.
Here is how to install and the sites to get the down loads.
Here you go>
Patch the game to 4.09m using the official patches

End result is IL2 v4.9m HSFX4.1 --- Fully modded with new aircraft and maps and server compliant.

Clean install 4.07 disk----4.08m patch----4.09m patch---HSFX-V 4.0-------HSFX-V 4

Thanks, Skyomish. It appears that way. My internet connection sucks!! really bad. I had a bad feeling that my files might wind up corruct because they take so long to download. I'll wait until I can get a better Service Provider.

I'm very much a noob here and totally confused, but I will tell you that I have direct2drive 1946 too, and I added the Ubi-Fix on top of 4.09m like you did. Before moving further, I ran il1946 to test if it was ok, and it showed that it had reverted back to 4.08. Did this happen to you too? Perhaps that's the problem? I'm really having diffuculty understanding the order of steps when it comes to this ubi-fix and the 4.09m patch. Could someone help, because it's not pointed out in the 242squadron instructions.

Only problem the IL2 launcher is gone!! i cant find it on my desktop as well as in my IL2 folder.
EDIT : somehow managed to get the launcher back.....but the HSFX is not working even after enabling with JGSME
2nd EDIT : silly me, forgot to gave JGSME administrator privilages!!!
HSFX works splendidly now!!!!

Hi skyomish, and all others regarding this MOD.

My problems I had are all gone now. I downloaded the MOD using the Utorrent, and it runs just great! As far as the other problems others are experiencing here, I think skyomish will be able to help, since I'm new to this forum and the game too. skyomish helped me find my problem, and I know he or others can help those that are having issues too.

My rig:

Vista 64

Ram: 4gigs (OCZ) sticks

Video card: Nvidia GTX 9800 512 memory.

Hard drive: 160gig Western Digital.

And I have the stock CD game installed.
