Berlin Map

I created a Defence of the Reich mission where night -fighters were trying to defend against Halifax's of Bomber Command. Was ok until the bombers reached Berlin and began dropping bombs. Machine just ground to a halt.

I dont see the point of the Berlin map being populated with houses . As long as the street layout is visible then that would be good enough for me.
Is there anyway to remove houses from maps en masse or do you need to remove them individually?

I would say that we dont need houses with any large towns or cities as it impacts too heavily on CPU.
Maybe its my old rig.

i had the same Problem with poltavas Berlin 1943 - mission!

Maybe you could use the "Destroy Brush" to make all the houses already damaged. That would mean the same as if a bomb falls in the middle of a field.

You would need to produce a custom version of the map with a new actors.static file.

Look in the mapmods sections for map tools.

You need to open up the actors file, reduce the density of buildings, and create a new actors file.

There are tools available to do this. Try looking here (The link is inoperative)
