Static paintschemes
#1

I've seen a few posts on various topics about changing the static aircraft paintschemes, and the only way to do this is with a Skinmod. Please can someone try to find a way to change the paintschemes of static aircraft, mobile and stationary ships, vehicles and tanks. Though I have never actually made a mod, I have changed most of the stuff in the game manually, and understand that it can be difficult. But plese could someone do it, for the ultimate missions. Thanks Smile

All of the above have been re-skinned . Are you asking for an in-game skin selection option ?

Easiest way to do that would be having the desired alternative skinpacks as an option in JSGME and just select the schemes for your chosen theatre of operation before launching Il2.

Static Ac already have defaults for summer/winter/desert, depending on which map you load , and as said static ac skin mod exists already.

I meant the equivalent of the menu in FMB, when creating missions, where you can choose what paintscheme you want each aircraft to have.

Statics are loaded at game launch. Selecting skins in FMB would cause compatability issues with the missions you create and with stock missions, so your probably stuck with skinpacks as JSGME mods.
All static AC of any model share the same default skin , so you're still somewhat limited here.

(anythings possible, though you'd end up with a monster that could only be used offline solo.)

I do know from skinning that a regular AC skin (.bmp) can be updates in the PaintSchemes folder while the game is running . to make it show in QMB (or FMB) you just have to select different AC and then reselect the type you're working on. This does not work for static objects (.tga/.tgb).
