I wanted to add a Farragut class destroyer for a non-commercial project I am doing. IL2

I know its possible to mod/skin ships, however does anyone know if there's a work-in-progress or possible easy way to modify a similar ship/destroyer?

I have 3ds max, but it would be a first time mod. I'm looking for crash course/miracle to possibly have it in the game before December. I know its wishful thinking, but I thought I'd start here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
