Problem with nVidia 270.61
#1

Hi Gentlemen,

since this afternoon, out of nowhere, my nVidia software (kernel) crashes nearly every time I'm using Firefox, watching a movie etc...
It seems like every time I need just a bit more power, I don't know. Never happened before. Didn't change anything.

I installed the driver new - but still - black monitor after a while (restart of the nVidia kernel) a picture.
Sound for example still there.

I thought it might be a thermal problem - but I've got special fans...

It just happens a least 10-times now....
Have to turn of my pc and have a look

Hi, Jambo

One of our most important driver diagnosis techniques is to revert to the next older driver version. Do that and let us know if it fixes it. If it does no good, then you know that it is not a driver issue and you should return to the latest driver.

By the way, any driver can be corrupt, even a previously used one can become corrupted.

This sounds like a hardware issue, but fixing software is free and always the first thing to check.

Hi Fireskull my brother,

thank you very much for your advice and handy hint. 8)

I really don't know what happened. I opened my PC, not one little piece of dust, nothing wrong I could see...
So I talked a few words with him (her?), closed the case and until now - nothing. Running smooth like before....

Amazing! I really think my PC just had an hiccup and after that everything seems fine. Confusedhock:
Hopefully!

I'll see! Have a nice day - all of you!
