hey, I'm about to make my first mod, it's a very small one but I think a certain group I'm going to aim it at will very much appreciate it.

I want to take some sounds/music files for the main menu/flight/takeoff/etc/etc, I just want to know: what are the requirements of the files,in what settings do they need to be saved?

All audio files in those folders are .wav 192kb/s stereo with sampling rate 44100 Hz and file attribute MPEG layer-3

My Google search for "free sound editor " gave this: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
I'm not sure but maybe this can help you, anyhow it's free. i don't use it therefore don't know
if it can convert wav files to your desired format, you have to test it yourself.
