I was wondering how easy it is to extend a map that has already been created, and if there are any tutorials for this? I have searched through kevinp's excellent tutorials, but can not find any info on extending maps.

I was thinking of sputnikshocks, 900x440km RLV map (night / hi-alt map) ~London to Leipzig; beta v0.5 map, link below

i was thinking it would be good to extend it westwards to include most of Eastern UK, so that USAAF and RAF airfields could be included. Eastwards to include Berlin and Dresden, and maybe to the south to include Nuremburg and Munich.

is there a maximum size a map can be?

any help appreciated
