Playing with a very modified DBW install.Any ideas what is happenig?

can't help you but I have the same issue in DBW.

This eneded up being a problem in the Mod in JSGME utility :New Gunners" & affected several planes with gunners .All I had to do was find the planes & deactivate that folder .

Ok thanks I noticed it in the Kate Torpedo bomber so far.
