Those are the size of the current Slot map. Assuming it is possible to work them even a little bigger, perhaps 100km in width we'd have many more options.

On possibility is to keep the pixel count close, and make them thinner. The Slot is around 495,000km^2. That means you could make a map 1000km wide, and 495km north to south. Larger sizes may be possible, but we certainly know that ~500,000 square kilometers will work.

Actually, truk would be pretty easy. I think any of the "carrier strike" maps of the central pacific should be a walk in the park, they are simply so small compared to the Slot.

Course we have very few ship targets really. No IJN Cruisers, no BBs aside from the RN one.

If we ever geta 3d Kit, I say we import all the models from SH4

Team Pacific, consisting of Cheech, T, spud and I, have projected to make a few of these maps.

One thing that is really interesting in all this, is that now with the Slot map, we have a large region covered, which will be played for a long time to come (I hope), and while its not perfect, you do have a New Guinea map, so redoing that can take a back seat. One thing that there is absolutely nothing of in this game is the Philippines.

There was much enthusiasm when I mentioned the possibility of doing Leyte Gulf to Cheech, and I think that this is what our future project will be.

Soon after we will cover New Britain/New Ireland with a small base at the southwest corner of the map to represent Buna.

I also see someone mentioning Truk, but wasnt this project already started on by someone in these forums?

What if we did more of Japan? It would be nice to maybe have a map with Tokyo in it for the Doolittle raid anyone?
