Hi,

Have read you can change your monitor screen resolution to other than the options given in the game menu through the confini files.I have tried to do this but once I change the numbers and save the changes the game won't load at all,I get the blue spinning circle beside the icon for a short while like normal ,then nothing it just refuses to load .
I am running 1400x1050 with a 19" wide screen acer monitor,but want to try 1920x1200 to see if it improves the quality of the imagery as its a bit grainey and flickers a little also.

Any thoughts on how I should achieve an improvement would be great,the 1920x1200 is only a resolution I read in another forum so don't hold me to that size if I've got it wrong.

I think you are limited to your monitors native resolution.
Your 19 in. Acer widescreen LCD's maximum res is probably 1440x900
If you go beyond that you will have trouble.

You can force IL2 to run in widescreen by modifing your config file which you will find In your IL2
main folder. Just make the changes, close, and say yes to save

this is mine, I'm running a 1920x1200

width=1920 < chanee this to your maximum width
height=1200 < change this to your maximum highth
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0 < make sure this is 0 not 1
Use3Renders=0

make sure the rest of the values are the same as above
