I just finished my 30 day trial of "Diskeeper" It's a utility that will not only do the "C" drive, but will defrag the computer startup items when you reboot.
I did notice some improvement the first time that I ran the startup sequence of the utility.
I have been reading lots of stuff on various defrag utilities & there seem to be as many opinions as there are different utilities.
What I am wondering is:
Just how crazy does a person need to get on a defrag utility for a homel computer?
1) The MS defrag utility that comes with XP Pro. How thorough is it compaired to a "Buy Me" defrag utility such as Diskeeper.
Does ms defrag put all of the files from one game all in order or are they just strung out throughout the drive ?
What I am trying to find out is whether or not the defrag process puts different pieces of software all together or just bunches all of the files together leaving no open spaces.
Are there any free defrag utilities that work better the the ms one or do I need to buy one to get a thorough defrag or is the ms defrag utility sufficient?
Hope I'm making sense here...
To buy or not to buy...that is the question...lol.. :?:
