Click the setup button in the Il2 MatManager interface. Use the first option to navigate to your 1946 folder, making sure you have made a copy of your il2fb.exe and renamed it il2.exe (so that you have 2 .exe's in there).

Ok, but now when I press Launch, then try to run the game, it crashes at 70%

it requires il2fb.exe iirc

clearcache=0 must be in conf.ini [game] section

you can set game path in the file: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2_Mat_Manager\IL2-MAT Manager.ini

here's my ini file

Quote:[Root]
MAT_Manager_Ver=0.00
FB_Root=C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946
HL_Root=C:\Program Files\HyperLobbyPro3
UBI_Root=C:\Program Files\ubi.com\Core
TIR_Root=C:\Program Files\Naturalpoint\TrackIR

[Launch]
HL=0
UBI=0
TIR=0
Off=1

[Enhanced_PF_Cache_Support]
Enabled=1

[Delete_Cache_Subfolders]
Enabled=0
...

the rest of the file is related to my markings setting, not important

...and press 'Save' if you change some settings inside MatManager

I don't understand, I match everything that you have... but it will not load past 70%

NEITHER .exe file that I click on will work. And based on what you guys have been telling me, I did'nt do anything wrong...

Should I have installed this over a clean 4.08 instead of modded 4.09? That could probably be it, no?

I may need a walk-through. Sad I feel really dumb. Where should I have installed MAT manager? why won't it load? Should i have installed it into the IL-2 folder or into a seperate folder? Does making a copy of the il2fb.exe mess with anything? Sad I'm confused.

Try using a real Il2fb.exe that has not been hacked, and rename it "Il2". Point the Mat program towards that. Keep your preferred Il2fb one in there too.

Where have you installed MAT Manager? Bear in mind that it is a separate program and not a mod and needs to be installed separately from your game directory. If you've installed it into your main IL2 directory, I think it might cause the problems you're having.
