Hello peeps!
I've had the most difficult time convert skins in .tga format to .bmp for use as any other skin...
To start, I downloaded a nice little program called 36-image converter off the net (it's free and not a trial version - no watermarks! :o ), and that gets the job done. To convert the entire picture, which is quite large, I must reduce it to 400x400 pixels.
Once it is in .bmp format, I move it over to Paint Shop Pro 9, move it back up to 1024x1024, make it 8-bit, with 70dpi resolution.
I finally got the skins to run in the game, yet, as always, there is a problem. They all come out looking rather shoddy and pixelly. This is to be expected with the major dimensions change. I messed around with the dpi settings, but it doesn't help in the least.
So, how can I get the image quality back to normal?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
