I've been enjoying Compans' Kanalkampf campaign. I have it on both copies of IL2 1946, the one with the UI and the backup copy. Both were loading and playing fine (I was competing with myself) when the campaign in the UI version stopped loading the Normandy map. The only thing I've done is downloaded Map Mod 2.4 to the UI version. The Normandy map won't load in the UI version, but continues to play in the Copy version. The first person I blame is myself. Problem is, I haven't the slightest idea what occurred.
This is what happens; when I try to play the campaign, I'm told there is a map loading failure. When I try to load the map in FMB the map won't load, or the game crashes. I've compared the all.ini, conf.ini, bldconf.ini and *.mis of both versions. They're all identical. I've cut the Normandy map from the UI version of MapMods and pasted in the Normandy map folder from the Copy: no luck. I made a search of AAA files looking for Normandy map problems and found nothing that seemed to relate to this problem. Anything else I could do? I'd sure appreciate some help.

Tonight, in an attempt to solve my Normandy map problem, I reinstalled Map Mod 2.4. Now the Slovakia, Philippines and others won't load in QMB and I'm assuming in FMB. Same problem: failure notice of map to load. I think 2.4 might be the problem. How do I uninstall it?

I found the error. It was I. Was learning to use the 408/409 switch and didn't realize I needed to switch back if I wanted to use 409. I figured 409 was the default-wrong! I got the idea perusing the 2.4 map mods thread. Thank you for the threads. It's not the first time it got me out of a jam-usually of my own making.
