Bay of Biscay Map

I note that there has been no news of this project for some time now, is it still being developed? How far has it got?
I don't know how many others would like to see it, perhaps I am the only one?

There was a lot of action around the Bay of Biscay. The wolfpacks had bases and convoys were also harrased by ju88's and fw200's. Famous RN test pilot Eric 'Winkle' Brown saw his first actions in this region and his escort carrier, HMS Audacity, was torpedoed and sunk in the Bay. He spent 24 hours in the sea before the escort destroyers picked him up. The germans lost a number of U boats during those hours and it was a black day for them. This action is not only described in Browns book, "Wings on my Sleeve" but is also given a slot in the famous "World at War" TV series of the 70's - check episode 10 (I think!) about the atlantic/submarine war.

Don't forget the "Battle of the Bay" incident..........1 Short Sunderland versus 7 or 8 Ju88's.......The Sunderland shot 4 of them down (I think) and managed to escape. One crew member died.

SLP.
