LOW FPS in WINDOWS 7 RC
#1

Hi,

I have just installed windows 7 64bit on a dual boot and everything works great on it apart from when i'm running IL21946 V4.09b with UI Installer 1.1.1 mod installed, i'm getting low frame rates when looking at ground objects, trees, and ground textures on the Channel 1940 map.
When I look at the objects/ground i get approx. 13-15 fps, and when i look at the sky i get 200fps.

On my XP 32bit install with the identical game i get a steady 50-130fps all around.
Water is ok on win 7 at 50fps. Is there anyone else with this problem or a fix.
Specs are as below.

Intel E6600 @3.2ghz
2 Gig DDR2 Crucial @ 1066Mhz
Gigabyte P35c DS3R
Ati Radeon 2900XT 512Mb

Screen Res 1680x1050
4 x AA
Ap Con AF
Everything else defalut

Vista 64bit mobo Drivers for Windows 7
Ati Cat 9.5 Windows 7 64bit Drivers

Cheers

with XP 1 gig ram is minimum
with Vista 2 gig minimum
don't know about 7.....most of us try and use at least 4 gig ram even with XP
this sim needs plenty of ram....especially the new maps

Installing the (beta) drivers from nVidia fixed a similar problem for me. My FPS are somewhat lower than yours, but they are essentially the same as what they were in WinXP. I'm running Win7 RC 64 bit just fine and my PC hardware is nowhere near as good:

AMD Athlon64 3500+ (yes, a single core CPU!
2 Gig PC3200 DDR
ASUS A8N5X
GeForce 8600GTS 512Mb

Are you running in OpenGL or DirectX mode?

I installed WIn 7 RC 64bit two weeks ago and so far no problems with FPS in IL2. The Black Deah track shows me even +10 fps more than on Win XP 32bit!

C2D E7400@2.8GH OC 3.5GHz
nVidia GF250
4GB RAM

I am using latest nVidia drivers 185.85

Running in OpenGL Mode for perfect settings.

Anyone with Ati card??

Is it an ati opengl issue?

Have tried so many things.

Don't have any problems in any other maps, it must be a texture/object issue.

Can you guys who posted try sitting on an airfield on the channel 1940 map and look around.
