I keep reading here about low end PC's. Can you tell me what mine is? I have a Athlon x2 6000+ cpu, ATI 4830 video card, 4gb of memory, 650w PSU, other stuff. When I read about how some mods will overly tax "low end" pc's, I am never sure if it applies to me. How much/how little can I expect to use mods without them killing my machine? Probably a moot point anyway, since my wife of the last 46 yrs isn't likely to let me buy anything else in the way of computer components.

yours sounds fine, IL2 doesn't bother my own 2gb ram, ati X1650 2.4ghz pentium 4 PC ( = old now!) and i've yet to find a mod that slows it down much on perfect settings (occasionally Potez/Holygrail's guncam smoke mod does, but that's it)
