Hi all, I always enjoy seeing people's "photostory" combat reports, so I thought I'd do one of my own. This also showcases RONNCO's Amazing P-400 skin, as well as my almost-finished A6M3 generic skins. Anyway, enough intro, here's the pics:
My flight took up a couple of P-400s for a patrol:
Ran into a few "Hamps," I failed to score any hits on the first pass, and the dogfight was on:
My wingman and I got split up, and he ran into trouble early:
I rushed to assist:
I was so focused on saving my buddy's behind and bringing down his attacker that I failed to notice my own problem:
I didn't even notice when the tracers started whizzing past:
The other guy was still going after my wingman:
I got off a few bursts, but no hits...
I finally noticed the Hamp on my six, and some frantic maneuvering followed:
I took substantial damage to my left wing and engine, but I still had control of my plane:
I managed to force my attackers to overshoot:
And, after several short bursts, I scored hits on his wingroot fuel tanks:
I came under fire again, but luckily my wigman was there to distract the enemy pilot, and he scored no hits:
A second Hamp overshot me again, and I managed to stay on his tail:
I stayed on him, despite his friend still latched firmly onto my own tail:
I used up my 20mm on this guy, and had to finish him off with just my .303s:
By that time, my engine had ceased to run smoothly, so I knew I had to get home ASAP. Unfortunately, the two remaining Hamps were between me and home:
I chopped my throttle, and just like the other two, he overshot:
I gave him a couple of good bursts, and he too caught fire:
This same pilot had been chasing me pretty much the entire fight, so I gave him a little "nice try" wag of my wings as he floated by:
Finally, as my engine was starting to sieze up, I reached the field:
I thought I was home free, safe and sound, but came in too high, with too little airspeed:
At the last second my fighter stalled out:
...
Meanwhile, my wingman was still in trouble trying to shake off the last of the Hamps:
Finally, the enemy pilot ran out of ammo, and gave up:
Right about that time, my wingman's engine stopped, so He tried to belly in near the airfield:
But he clipped a tree with his tail, and didn't make it:
Ok, that's all... sorry for so many screens... hope you liked them!
