It's probably been done before, but im making a mission (maybe even a campaign if i can gather that much info) starting with the Normandy landings, if anyone has any information that would help me, nomatter what it is, that would be great.

also, does anyone know roughly(or exactly) how amny landing craft actually reached the beaches and landed??

Abel, for this request, i would say: Google is your friend. There's a wealth of info on Normandy/D-Day landings out there, and its not hard to find.
As an aside, i can tell you right now that you will not be able to faithfully reproduce this in IL-2. You'll have to scale things down dramatically for it to be playable on even the highest-spec pc available...there were thousands of ships, planes, etc involved - most pc's will struggle even with hundreds...
don't get me wrong - go for it - just be aware of the limitations.
Good luck! Big Grin

Hi mate I tried to do a campaign of D-Day Landigs but it was a bit inpossible to do it because the C-47 when dropping the paratroopers the game will be much laggy but i was going to do the first mission of D-Day that was a lot of bombers like B-24s and B-17s with P-51s as an escort but the bombing raid was too laggy too . Bigbossmalone said right that google is your friend , I found some info for you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandy_Landings .

Good luck for the Campaign Smile

Is there a particular beach you are concentrating on Utah, Omaha, The Brittish or Canadian beaches? That narrows it down quit a bit. :???:

This is an overview. I'll try to find more if you have some more details...

I went to Normandy for holliday last year. Although Normandy itself is not so inspiring the historic locations certainly are! Museums everywere.
