Map Loading Error
#1

Hey guys. When in the mod, and attempting to load any map in the Full Mission Builder (Malta, for example), I get the following error.

World.land().LoadMap() error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Landscape 'mrz_Malta/mrz_load.ini' loading error

This happens with any of the modded maps. It's probably an easy fix, but I haven't found it yet. Can someone be a peach and help a brother out? :?

You're probably missing a texture or have it in the wrong location.

When you get that error message, hit shift and tab at the same time and you will get a dialog of text on your screen. Somewhere in the many lines, usually near the bottom of your screen, will be a more detailed error message telling you which specific file is missing. Then you can see how to go about fixing the problem ...

Of course it could be something else aswell - but without more details to go on your are groping in the dark.

Remember: shift + tab ...

Thanks! That seems to be the case. I thought everything came with the installer, but apparently I need to download and install each map seperately? I'd better get cranking.

There are so many maps that don't come with the installer. Dozens if not more. And many of unusual locations or landscapes.

But take care when installing them. Install them one by one, install one and run the game to check that it's working properly.

The first time can be confusing, but it is really nothing more than copying and pasting files/folders to the correct locations and adding a few lines to a file with a text editor. Nothing more.

But don't do them all at once, cause if you make a mistake with one of them, you won't know which one it was.

After a while, map installing will become second nature.

Hey, thanks! I appreciate your help! I'm looking to start a Battle of Britain campaign with my friend Matt, and it looks like we'll use one that utilizes CannonUK's map.

Good luck with that install. I think you've chosen a map with the most difficult install procedure of them all ... one worth the trouble for sure, but still the most complicated install procedure. That because of the extra mods that need to be installed first before the map will work properly.

Hmm. . .that said, you think I should wait until the 352nd comes out with their Cross-Channel map? Matt and I are only 13 missions into a 36 mission African Campaign right now anyway, so we probably won't get to the Battle of Britain until next year.
