This is really nice artwork. Is it for yourself to use?

I would recommend that if you want to use the art for you're own use, (not sell) that you contact the Artist who created it and politely ask him/her if you could use the Artwork to personalize your in game aircraft.

If you modify (or are considering) the Artwork in any way, it is common courtesy to ask the Artist, and if he/she approves, and show the final product you intend to use to said Artist.

If Artwork belongs (and was created) by a popular creative company, it is a whole other thing. They usually don't mind too much if you're a fan and as long as you do not malign legacies/stories..... Usually. (A cease and desist order will definitely let you know - and can be a little embarrasing)

Another approach might be a little more difficult but more personalized and could have very satisfying results. YOu could ask an artist for a personalized piece using said character and maybe modified to fit the 'nick' of the NoseArt. eg: "Ball o Fire", "Alderraan Retribution", etc. I'm sure the Artist would enjoy making imagery to fit the name/nick!
As 'Fan Art', executed nicely, and not maligning legacies/stories, you should be OK.
