A map question, maybe?
#1

It's me again, still having difficulties. One of the things about being in your late sixties (just one of many Sad ) is that I can't remember things posted here which might have solved my problems. I don't do tell well searching. I'm not sure this has been addressed before, but maybe. Anyhow....

For some reason, a couple of my campaigns (offline play) have ceased to work. The Biggin Hill Wing campaign worked before, and the Kosciusko one and Fighter Boys I never could get to even start. The same things happen in each. Even when I copy the BHW files into the single missions GB folder, they won't work there either. I'm wondering if it could have something to do with the maps those use. Could they have gotten corrupted some way or other. But let me talk myself out of that idea - they work in QMB! Could they have only gotten screwed up for campaigns? The symptoms - the campaign seems to load just fine, up to and including the briefing screen. After I tell it "fly" it goes through its regular normal iterations, I am in the cockpit ready to fly, then, nothing. I'm still there, in the cockpit, but I can't get an outside view, can't use mouse, joystick, anything. The background music seems to be in a continuous loop. The only way out is CTRL ALT DEL.

I'm just looking for an opinion on what I might do to solve this. I'm afraid I don't know where I should start to look.

Thank you for any help, and as usual, your patience.

this sounds like a driver issue, have you recently updated your video or sound drivers? click START choose RUN and type in DXDIAG and post the info here

Well, I did as you said. Under each tab it said everything was running correctly. And no, I don't usually mess with drivers. I have had some really bad luck with them. I let Windows 7 find the drivers for me when I upgraded. Oh, and by the way, some people want to know what hardware you have. I have got a Athlon Phenom II x3 720BE CPU, ATI 4830 1GB video card, 4GB memory, Gigabyte motherboard, Corsair 520w power supply, Windown 7 32 bit, etc.

Thanks for the response. Any other idea?
