Where can you change the difficulty settings?

For instance when I start a new career it doesn't ask me and the settings seem locked but when I originally started I could change the settings for the same career. Because I couldn't change I deleted campaign.ini but when I start that same career again it does not give me the option upon starting and I can stop flying and check the difficulty settings but they are locked.

I want realistic settings for all "flying" attributes but not for minimap, icons, external views and speedbar related stuff.

Hello,

You can only change the difficulty settings BEFORE starting the campaign for THE FIRST TIME.
Once the career has begun (i.e. you have flown the first mission), the settings are locked and you cannot change them.

So remember when you want to start a campaign (career, dynamic or static), choose your settings FIRST, and only when you have done that, push the START button to begin the campaign.

It's in the first campaign mode screen where you can choose you country, campaign and rank.
