Leigh lights for ASW aircraft doable by tweaking ldg lights?
#1

I've recently regained interest in playing SHIII with the GWX mod pack and after TWICE being bombed by a liberator on the surface at night with Leigh lights blinding me, i thought it'd be neat to have some ASW aircraft (like RAF B-24) equipped with a Leigh light in IL-2.

I know the lights have been requested here before, but I was wondering if there would be a way to use the effects already used by our airplanes' landing lights to create a leigh light? The landing lights in game already illuminate the ground/water, so is there a way to somehow make the lights 10x brighter, move them to a newly made pod under the wing, and (hardest part) control their angle with, say, the bombsight controls? If so, we could have fully functioning Leigh lights to catch those unterseeboots on the surface. 8)

For those who don't know what they were, they were HUGELY successful during the war, and literally forced the uboats to stop operating on the surface at night.

yes. Have a look at the Searchlight on the P2V Neptune. It'll light up the ocean pretty brightly.
