Campaign for Fw-190A-5U14 Torpedo Plane
#1

Hello Everybody,

I have been sitting on the sideleines at AAA for a while and have greatly enjoyed the mods, utilities, discussions and advice offered on this site. I thought that I could perhaps give a little bit back by offering my first campaign for donwload here. This is a fictional campaign for the Fw-190 torpedo plane, set on the Norway map. I did not find much information on the actual use of the Fw-190 as a torpedo plane in combat. Most of it was rather limited and/or experimental. It seems that a few Fw-190 F variants, equipped to carry torpedoes, were used in combat with units of KG 200, from bases in Norway, thus my choice of map.
The campaign combines some of my favourite aspects of IL-2 gameplay: relatively short flights to target, torpedo runs and low-altitude dogfights.
I hope you will enjoy this campaign.

Thanks for downloading.

Hi bohr-r,

thank you for doing this campaign!

I've tried the first two mission and it's promised a lot of fun. Unfortunately just on my own plane the german markings are showing, the rest are blank. On the RAF planes the markings are showing properly.
Is there something I can fix for my own, e.g. editing the .mis files?

Thanks in advance!

you have to delete each line that reads "numberOn etc..."

in each .mis file

[g0100]
Planes 3
Skill 3
skin0 $$ No 6188.bmp
skin1 A3+KV.bmp
skin2 Fw190A-5 U14 K.bmp
numberOn0 0
numberOn1 0
numberOn2 0
Class air.FW_190A5U14

For example in this .mis file the 3 FW 190s will have no markings unless you delete the "numberOn etc " lines

But if for ex skin A3+KV.bmp is an already marked skin, if you don't add the "numberOn etc .." line the skin will have 2 markings (one upon the other)

I will give it a try when I'm at home.

Hi King Franky,

When I built the campaign, I had selected all sorts of custom skins for different planes, especially for the Fw-190 torpedo planes. You could go into the Full Mission Builder and select and save those skins from your own skin folder you would like to use. If you don't want to do that, perhaps, if you set all the skins to default, they would show up correctly, with the markings in game.

Please let me know how it goes; and thanks for downloading my campaign.

Guten Flug und Hals-und Beinbruch,

Hi bohr-r,

with the Full Mission Builder I'm not so familiar, so I've changed some data in the .mis files.

I've deleted each line that reads "numberOn etc..."
and overwrite the lines

skin0 $$ No 6188.bmp
skin1 A3+KV.bmp
skin2 Fw190A-5 U14 K.bmp

with

skin0 Fw190A-5 U14 A.bmp
skin1 Fw190A-5 U14 B.bmp
skin2 Fw190A-5 U14 C.bmp

This works like a charm and all my comrades have now the proper markings (Thx FZ for that!).

So far your campaign looks good and interesting. The details on the airfiled and the small villages are nice eye candy. I'll give you more feedback when I've finshed the campaign.
BTW, is this the first campaign you have built? If so, than you are a talented creator.

Hi bohr-r,

finished your campaign yesterday and I've a lot of fun.
Nice detailed landscape and airfields with some action and eyecandy.
The mission are varied and full of action. It makes a lot of fun to fly these torpedo carrying Fockes.

I can highly recommend this campaign!

Thanks to you and all others who played my FW-190 torpedo campaign. I am glad you enjoyed it.
I am currently traveling, but after I get back, will try to post a link to my 4-shared section that has this campaign.
