New Nvidia card- jagged rivers, shimmerin cockpit
#1

Anyone please help. I just bought new Gigabyte GTS 250 card hoping to finally get some decent image quality
and FPS. The frames are good if compared to my old ATI 4670, but i cant get my eyes of the jagged river
beds and shore when at low altitude. And hi res cockpits are shimmering and that is something i just cant
ignore.

Tried playing with nvidia control panel, tried nHancer, tried landgeom=3, new dlls, nothing works. I`ll try
a different driver but i dont think its gonna work. Im fucking tired of that, and it pisses me off, i almost
deleted the game and everything yesterday. Its just so annoying.

I know that jagged things and shimmering cockpit are old problems, did my searching and reading, tweaking,
hoping, but my nerves are at the end. Cant beleive that after 8 years of playing still cant get the pleasure of
flying without the goddamn SHIMMERING, JAGGING, FLICKERING, FUCKERING and so on!!!!

Same here!!!

GTX260 and Windows 7.
Just about getting close to throwing the damn computer accrosss the room.
WHY IS THIS SIM SO HARD TO TUNE?????
How many of us are just spending our lives trying for half decent graphics when we know we have spent good money upgrading our PC's, and instead of flying the damn planes we are just going around and around in circles getting angrier and angrier,AAARRRRHHHHH!!!!!

I can't be alone surely?

I thought I was all alone on this on. I was this close on giving up on everything, I mean it pisses me off like hell!

Must try some more dlls and other driver. I just dont have time or nerves to tune everything up as i should be.

Still have jagged rivers and shores , oh, and cockpits also. Especially bird cage canopies!

Hi,

I feel for your problems because I have been through them myself.

In your conf.ini file, change the settings to the following:

VertexArrays=1
VertexArrayExt=1

DrawLandByTriangles=0
HardwareShaders=1
DynamicalLights=1
LandGeometry=2
ForceHardwareShaders=0

Also, you can temporarily make the conf.ini file READ-ONLY by right clicking on the file icon, click Properties, and in the window which next appears put a check in the READ-ONLY box before pushing the APPLY button. Whenever you make changes of any graphics type such as NVIDIA Control Panel, then you need to undo READ-ONLY, make the changes, and reapply READ-ONLY.

Here is my tech topic on graphics issues with some recent information:

Can you post your entire conf.ini file?

Make sure that in your Nvidea control panel under settings for Il2 that you have "override any application setting" set for "antialiasing mode" otherwise the AA will not work in the game.
