in-cockpit canopy reflections?

Yeah, they were overdone. Really, it would've been nice if they could've just toned it down a bit rather than eliminating it completely. I'm not a real big fan of the smoked glass canopy and smoked glass gunsight either.

It was almost as if the artist who was responsible for the Hellcat had been given some pictures taken from inside a real cockpit when the sun was shinning down onto some surface that was painted zinc chromate green, and it was reflecting up on the inside of the canopy in a big way. The artist took it litterally, and voilas! Thats what we saw under most conditions. The 109K-10? had a similar problem, but in that case, I think it was just a matter of an extremely dirty canopy, which the artist took too litterally.

Do you know what are the requirements in graphics settings to have or not have these reflections?
With other words how you turn them on and off in conf.ini?

I'm asking this because I currently got the reflection on the canopy glass, but it seems to me that not in all planes. It seems to me that the modellers didnt used a generic refletion rule, so each time its a bit different.

Hi Istvan,

yes ur right... the strongest reflection I have saw was in the P51 D Late.

I had sun in my back and saw reflection of the lenses of the K14 on the Glass.

Could it be, it's a special script for some conopies ?

There is no option to turn it off or on in conf.ini or anywhere else.

No every plane have “reflection” (which is I repeat not a real reflection) some have it some don’t have it at all, and it is different texture for every plane (which have it, that is) not one generic. For outer canopy it is one generic. It is possible in some degree to increase or decrease in cockpit “reflection” by altering values in glas.mat file, on planes that have it, of course.
