The H8K1 can be a real challenge to knock down. More than once its tail cannon has sent me down. I remember one coop mission in which the best we could do was get one smoking. We all either crashed or continued on with the primary objective and returned to base, but the Mavis was still making for home. We let the mission run until it finally crashed. It made touchdown in the water just off shore, slide up the beach, across some land, across a small river up the opposite river bank and stopped when it crashed into a tree! The unbelievable damage modeling made us laugh.

Yeah its a really tough plane to shoot down , but i used the A-20G top gunner to damage these H8K1s
to avoid the two 20mm cannons 8)

the way i destroy these mean pieces of equipment(lol), i boom and zoom to avoid the 20mms. also notice that if your teammate already engaged on the plane, the AI will get very smart to shoot you down

Boom and Zoom with an A-20G isnt very easy , Yes it can be a fast plane but with a maximum of 2 Booms and Zooms , it loses speed and altitude quick.

yes, american planes were flying tanks that wouldnt last. especially 2 engined planes loose their altitude very quickly :roll:
