This aircraft would be a great addition for IL-2 series because it flown
and was a quite a good performer.

not really guys.. If the modders were to do all of these marginal and prototype planes that everyone wants, we'll never get to see aircraft like the Lancaster, Do17, Stirling, Wellington. Hampden, SM 79, RE 2001, G3M Nell, Ki 15, Ki 36, Ki 51, Ki 15, ki 44, D4Y2 Judy, Helldiver, Hudson, Hampden, Halifax, Devastator, Swordfish, Beaufort.. All seen action and not available in game.. These would really start to make all the campaigns on the realistic new maps we are getting even more enjoyable.. Do you get my drift here chaps.. and thats not to mention a whole shed load of the French types that are needed too..

Hey Brophmeister, I think he was probably saying +1000 to the keeping it WWII Orientated...

Personally I could see justificiation for keeping what is produced from WWI to Korea... anything beyond that, no.

If it were possible to have every plane mentioned and requested, even the prototypes, (and some of them are beautiful aircraft) then of course it would be fantastic to have everything.. (I would have thought thats obvious), But we have to be realistic here.. The vast majority of players for IL2 are using it for their love of WWII air combat.. Now we have the tools to realise our dreams (almost), it would be extremely sad for the modders to divert their expertise and talents on aircraft that only saw the light of day to get briefly off the drawing board and fly a few times..
As my list above shows, we have so many mainstay and much used WWII aircraft, from many different campaigns and theatres that may now be within our grasp, I just think it will be futile to divert our limited modding members on other futile things..
If you had the chance for the mod team to give you a Do17, or some Curtiss prototype that never saw action, which one would you choose? of course 99% of you would want the Do17, as it saw action for many years and can be used in many different campaigns.. The other 1% may take the Curtiss for the odd spot of 'air racing', but thats about it..

By the way BM, Magpie is right.. I was responding to Sea Norris and his comment to keep it WWII oriented.. (I'd look a bit stupid making this post otherwise wouldn't I)

And it still would be WWII orientated because it flown in 1941

Being an air racer myself i would still choose the Do17 rather than a Curtiss prototype! We can't use mods for air racing anyway so i don't see what the point of having a curtiss is. I have hardly a clue what both planes look like but i'd go for the dornier Big Grin
