The only thing I could tell you is that there is LOD for aircraft, and for destruction on statics only a texture and a mesh.

So, for statics, their are a "live" and a "dead", nothing like "wounded".

Buildings are clean or destroy, but nothing between.

Do do what you ask, all models have to be completly re-meshed with LOD, that means a lot of work (I guess, not nothing about 3D modeling).

Don't know if it answer to your asking, if not, let me know...

Hi,

This is how I understand it

With "objects" there are usually 2 sets of skins in the folder. The first set has 3 Level of Detail (LOD)undamaged clones at different resolutions and 3 skins of similar resolution with the damage added and sometimes the alpha layer adjusted to provide holes. With some buildings there is also a different mesh with a "deformed" structure to simulate damage that replaces the original mesh when the building is hit. There is not an "in between" version. It is either fine or destroyed.

With aircraft only one skin is needed in the file folder. The damage is added using the automatic in-game semi transparent/alpha layers if you get hit.

As a mere skinner and not a modder that is about the level of my understanding, I hope it helps. If others wish to correct me or elaborate on this I would be keen to learn more as well.....

Thanks for the reply's, but its not what I meant.

What I mean by damage textures / effects tutorial's is stuff like bullet holes, shell holes, shredded metal, splintered wood ect... basically battle damage and how to make them in a paint program ie photoshop.

I can find tutorial's on bullet holes but I can't seem to find any else really that might be related to battle damage.

Is that any clearer?
