Yes........I expect all new maps will be for only 4.09mbeta ...there are too many good objects and textures that one misses out on using otherwise

Do people still use 4.08, I think that is stranger. Unpdating IL2 to use mods and not update it to 4.09 hmmm

Damn! Why you don't download 4.09?! Today almost all maps working on 4.09 only!

With the switcher is EASY to change from 4.09 to 4.08 and so on....no excuse to dont get it.

you might try this....I don't know if it will work or not.....(using 4.08 )

open the load.ini file with Notepad and alter the following.....

Country3 =land/summer/sk_fields_mount2.tga

change to Country3 =;land/summer/sk_fields_mount2.tga

City0 = land/summer/fsk_country_mount.tga

change to City0 = ;land/summer/fsk_country_mount.tga

that cancels a couple of the new textures and may allow it to load....??

Thanks for some very constructive suggestions, will try it out and report back to you. I do have the 4.09 Beta , so it is in the "works", as Oleg seems to be sitting firmly on final release :roll:

I did your suggested change in the load.ini, but no go
I got this message : World.land O.load map error java lang.RuntimeException: Landscape "OJ/load.ini" loading error :
